The Ethology is a recent science originated in Europe around 1930, whose founders are Konrad Lorenz and Nico Tinbergen. In 1973, they received the Nobel Prize in Medicine for his discoveries and assumptions to explain animal behavior. But well before that, Darwin was a ethologist even before the word was invented!
The document with the list or inventory of the animal behavior in observation is the ethogram and the most common way to do so is still with paper and pencil! 
But with the facilities and resources of Smartphones and Tablets and EthoView, biologists, veterinarians, observers of animal life, children and young science students, everyone to hold their notes and share with friends and another researchers.
